The more expensive advanced range features full Dolby Atmos integration.
Yamaha RX-A2A is a 7.2 channel AV receiver that is capable of combining all your sources into one place. The RX-A2A is great for those without in-ceiling or upward-firing speakers in their home cinema system as it comes with Dolby Atmos Height Virtualisation Technology, which simulates the Atmos experience with forward facing drivers.
The newly designed high slew rate amp produces a precise signal transmission that is suitable for high res audio signals. The A2A also features HDR10 technology for crisp and vibrant detail from scene to scene. In addition, the Yamaha Rx-A2A AV receiver is compatible with the MusicCast 50 or MusicCast 20 wireless streaming speakers.
The Yamaha RX-A4A is a 5.2 channel AVR and it sits below the A6A. The A4A is perfect for home cinema systems providing you with a variety of inputs for all sources and output options so you connect a full 5.2 sound system. It has a multi-channel Dolby and DTS sound and uses Yamaha’s unique Cinema DSP 3D system to offer 17 DSP programs for a huge variety of sounds.
The A4A allows for software updates to allow for future upgrades to the features and support for HDR10+. It also has amazing connectivity featuring Yamaha’s network audio system – MusicCast. MusicCast allows you to control all your MusicCast devices via smartphone or even Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant by voice making the whole system more user friendly and accessible. Furthermore, the A4A has support for streaming services such as Amazon Music and Spotify Premium, plus Qobuz and Tidal, which offers higher resolution playback.

The RX-A6A is the flagship model sitting above both the A2A and A4A. The A6A is a 7.2 channel AVR integrated system. The A6A is designed to deliver a powerful, accurate and immersive sound so you can feel right in the centre of the action. The A6A has amazing connectivity including Bluetooth and Apple Airplay 2 giving you the perfect platform for any AV needs. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualisation technology is also built in allowing for you to digitally manipulate the audio and its location to emulate ceiling speakers.
It produces a similar effect by using your existing speakers to deliver an enhanced sound (via firmware update). Yamaha’s RX-A6A AVR is future-ready for the next generation of TV as it features a trio of 8K compliant HDMI inputs and matching output making it an amazing value for money. The hardwire connections for the A6A are also good with a magnitude of inputs, it has seven HDMI inputs, optical coaxial digital inputs, three analogue inputs and dedicated MM phono input for plugging in a turntable. A Zone 2 output option gives you the option of adding a second pair of speakers in another room.
